Home/Services/ Assessment Process
The assessment process

From first call to first session.

A clear, supported path — with our clinical team guiding you at every step. No sales reps, no runaround, and a real BCBA leading the way from day one.

Step by step

What to expect.

Every family's timeline is a little different — funder approvals vary — but the path looks like this.

1
Day one

Reach out

Submit our short Request for Services form or call us at (510) 500-5124. Tell us a little about your child and your insurance. A member of our clinical team — not a call center — responds within one business day.

2
Coverage

Insurance & eligibility

We verify your benefits with Kaiser, CCHP, or RCEB — or explore a single-case agreement if you have another plan — and confirm what your funder requires, like a diagnosis or referral. We'll tell you exactly what to expect before anything begins.

3
Getting to know your child

BCBA assessment

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst meets your child and family, observes how your child plays and communicates, and talks with you about your priorities. This is where we learn what matters most to you.

4
Your plan

Individualized treatment plan

Your BCBA builds a program from scratch — goals, recommended hours, and the right setting — and reviews every piece of it with you. Nothing is set in stone; it's a plan you help shape.

5
Approval & scheduling

Authorization & your care team

We submit the plan to your funder for authorization and match your child with a consistent Registered Behavior Technician. You'll meet the team who will actually be in the room.

6
Ongoing

Begin & review

Sessions begin in-home or in-center. Your BCBA stays closely involved, reviews progress with you regularly, and revises goals as your child grows. If something isn't working, we change it.

Helpful to have ready

A few things that speed up your start.

Don't have everything yet? No problem — reach out anyway and we'll help you gather it.

Insurance information

Your child's insurance or Regional Center details, so we can verify coverage quickly.

Diagnosis or referral

Any autism diagnosis report or physician referral, if you have one. Many funders require it for ABA.

Your goals

A few notes on what you'd love to see for your child. Your priorities shape the whole plan.
